Junk Food Job

This was the Keystone Project of my Animation Production Studio Class. This class introduced us to a studio environment, and encouraged teamwork, creativity, and management. I still keep in contact with my team and miss them. This film was a blast to make, and I am very proud of how this turned out.

I was in charge of modeling, and texturing, the Raccoon character for our film.

This is the process detailing on how the model was crafted.

Modeling and Sculpting

After working with the team and deciding a design I got to work sculpting in the Software: Maya

Rigging

UV

One of my biggest struggles with this model was UV unwrapping. It was quite difficult to make sure everything was lined up correctly, especially since this project was the first time I used substance. Through the help of my Character Coordinator, I was able to unwrap the model effectively.

While this process was tricky, it helped me improve greatly and allowed me to use these skills for future projects.

Texturing

My favorite process of modeling, as well as my favorite aspect of this model was the texturing. I absolutely adore how this model came out. I am very proud of what this model became.

The trickiest part of this texturing process was the mouth. I had to figure out how to make the mouth look fleshy and gross, while also still making it cute and stylized. Through communication, and trial and error I was able to make texture the teeth and mouth. Which then in turn, became one of the strongest pieces of the model.

Substance Painter has become my new favorite texturing program

Animating

After making the model and Paulina implemented the rig into the model, it was time to animate.

I was given 3 sequences to work on

Glorious Hot Dogs

  Captured Escape

  Together Forever

Shout out to my team! They were a wonder to work with! I miss them so much!
